HOPE that Enlightens:
Capturing Hope Through the Lens of Faith
Capturing Hope Through the Lens of Faith is a fun and inspiring project by the Luminaire Photography Ministry that will run from January to June 2025 and organised as part of the Jubilee Year celebrations. By combining the art of photography with the powerful message of faith, we aspire to bring our community together in capturing moments of Hope.
We invite parishioners to join our Photo Challenge to:
Unite in Community: Through the universal language of photography, come together and be united with various Offices and Ministries, fostering a sense of belonging in our parish community.
Capture Moments of Hope: Take this opportunity to participate in the Jubilee Year 2025 to inspire and be inspired in Church by capturing moments that reflect hope and faith.
Challenge Yourself: Build and grow faith and stir hearts, seizing glimpses of Hope within our congregation, shared spaces in Church, in ministry work/service and in our daily lives.
Share Your Vision of Hope at Pentecost: Celebrate our collective journey with a photo exhibition at Pentecost, showcasing our beautiful snapshots of Hope.
If you are not sure about how to take the right photo, don’t worry! We have exciting activities lined up to enhance your journey as pilgrim photographers of Hope, including expert-led workshops that you can join to hone your skills!

📸 Photographic Ethics
Photography ethics is a set of moral principles that guide a photographer's actions, decisions, and interactions. It's about being respectful, gaining consent, and representing people with dignity. Ethical photography is important because it helps photographers understand the power they have over the images they create and share.
Here are some principles of ethical photography:
Respect: Respect the rights of the people before capturing and within your images, including their right to privacy.
Consent: Get consent from your subjects before capturing and whilst using their images, and inform them of the purpose and potential impact of your images.
Transparency: Be transparent about your actions and decisions.
Empathy: Consider the impact of your images on others.
Integrity: Be honest and don't manipulate your images.
ADDITIONAL NOTE: Taking photographs during Mass can be distracting, both for yourself and those around you. Do respect the sanctity of the Mass and refrain from taking photos so that everyone present can participate fully in the Mass.
